In a recent Instagram post, I briefly shared how I've traded in slacks and skirts for lounge pants, leggings and workout tights. It was week three or four when I realized getting fully dressed was a waste of time and energy. Getting dressed gave me a false sense of hope that I had somewhere to go. It made me yearn for something I could not have, which isn't good for my psyche. But because I'm still working and I have frequent video calls, I've had to balance that with maintaining how I present myself professionally. I don't know if my co-workers care, but I do! I care about my appearance and how I present myself to the world.

The balance I've found is getting dressed from the waist up. I know if I completely abandon my morning routine now, I'm only setting myself up for failure in the future. My happy medium with waist-up outfits allows me to keep planning my wardrobe for the week. Then daily, I still allot time to do makeup and style my hair, all altered to accommodate my new #quarantinelife. It's my way of protecting myself from developing bad habits during COVID-19 that will hurt me when I have to return to working in the office.

What's on top typically looks something like this, a pink blouse or a classic white T-shirt and cardigan so I look and feel put together for the day (sans the blonde hair accessory and gold makeup highlight, I was doing the most this day!) My new style routine is keeping my sanity in check.

Do you have a new #WFH style? Or are you still rolling along like, #quarantine who? I'd love to hear your thoughts on Instagram at @Malizy. #PRchic
